When I got my IB, it had no fenders.  It came with two pretty new reproduction WD-45 fenders.   Conventional wisdom says that you can make IB fenders by welding back in the metal that you had to cut out of fender blanks to make them WD-45 fenders.  Now I'm way ahead of you.  I can hear those wheels going around thinking, why don't the reproduction vendors just make WD-45 fenders half-way and not cut out the axle notch and put the extra holes in it?   I have run that rabbit through the woods a couple of times and each time gotten no where.  Guy told me there just aren't enough IB owners out there to make it worth while, besides you can use the WD-45 fenders the way they are. Yeah, or I could use Buick fenders or the landing wheel doors off of a B-29.   And, what the hell, I wanted a MIG welder anyway.  Ok, enough background.  I need the rear fender brackets.  Previous owner thinks the fender thief was in a hurry and forgot the front brackets.  I got lucky there.  The back brackets look rather simple to fabricate.  Sooooooo   If'n one of you other badly discriminated against IB owners has one apart for part painting, I would appreciate some pictures and a few measurements.  I was going to sell a kidney so I can afford a pintle hitch, but Doc says these old Budweiser filters ain't worth much and he can do better at ACE hardware.  Funny guy, must be one of my wife's relatives.

DAve, depends on how "original" you want to be. I used the WD45   fenders and just cut a 16 guage plate that overlapped the 45 axle cut out about an inch all the way around. I  rounded the sharp corners a little, layed it out the outside and spotwelded a couple points on the inside. AFter primer and paint it looks like the plates are suppose to be there, and you really dont pay much attention the them off to the sides of the seat when you got the rest of the tractor to stare at.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

There are 2 styles. Here is what mine has. Long side 12 15/16" long X 2 1/4" wide and 1/4" thick. Holes are 9/16 diameter. They are 15/16" and 5 7/16" from the end to center and 7/8" down to center. The other half is 8 5/8" X 2 3/4" and 1/4" thick. Holes are 9/16" diameter and 9/16" in from each end and centered side to side. Big hole is 4 5/8" X 1 3/4", 2 5/8" from one end and 1 3/8" from the other and centered. As fast as I am at typing I probably could have made one faster. LOL

Here is a pic of the WF fenders I made out of WC fenders, basically the same problem with a big hole to fill. This is what I'm doing to the IB also, the WD fenders showed up last week.

This was a picture of test fitting the hitch, but it shows the fender mounts on my IB.

Dave,
I have restored 2 IBs and now working on my 3rd.
The IBs I rstored had what I am sure were original fenders in very bad condition, they all had plates spot welded on the basic WC/WD fenders open area. So In my poinion to make IB fenders the same as originals, you don't want fenders without the open area, you want the WD/WC fenders with a plate spot welded to the open area.
As for the rear brackets, I see you have a post with the info you need.

You can see the plates Bill mentioned in my picture, and they are original fenders.  I just looked at the parts book and you can see the plate on the fender in the drawing there too.

I figured my fenders were replaced once already but that's going to make my fender job much easier. Thanks

Hey tom, a little off topic from the post, but how is the RC coming along?

My RC runs really nice, I still have some work to do on it but I have had it out and got it covered in gull droppings.  Here is a video of it from the drivers seat when I was helping plow the ground for next years Orange Spectacular.

Dave, I used WD45 fenders for my IB. My body man took all the measurements off the IB fenders and transfered everything to the WD fenders. I don't know if this pic will help....

Thank you Lon! That's my lawn mower. I pull a finish mower behind it. I have to keep in mind what you did on your WF for fenders. My WF will be needing fenders when the time comes. Our man Fred is gonna do the engine for me, providing there's anything left of it from him parting it out......Come to think of it, it may not have fenders on it right now anyway!  LOL!
