So this is the first AllisChlamers tractor I ever owned...wait, first real tractor I have owned, and think I did pretty good. Picked it up with a non-operational front end loader for $1000.

Thought I would post some pics and introduce myself...I already have some question, but need some additional pics to help ask it.

LOL..thanks. Bought the place this past November...10 acres. Got this WD to help with all the projects. My little Honda garden tractor just couldn't handle it.

ya did good bubba. its already been upgraded to 12 volts, has an alternator, the rear tires and rims are good. appears to have a good exhaust manifold. sell those dopey aftermarket lights and buy a couple of fenders. you've got a lot of tractor for the money. enjoy!

Very nice Rich, I also have a '51 WD. What's the S/N? Look on the back of the rear end casting just below the left brake cover (the oval shaped cover to the left of the seat), should be WDxxxxx. They are strong dependable tractors, you will get many years with good maintenance. Welcome and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Nice looking WD. Straight sheet metal.
Just a note on securing your tractor to the trailer while hauling. I believe most states / provinces now require independent 4 corner securing of anything big and heavy on a trailer. Your single strap on the rear doesn't meet that requirement. Each retaining item ( chain, strap etc. ) needs to be independent of the other 3. FYI Gary

Thanks Rich, that serial # actually makes your tractor a 1952. I am keeping a registry of WDs by serial number and will add this one to the list.

For those who are not aware
There is a very large Data Base for Allis Tractor Owners on this Forum. Go to the top of this page, Click on 'Main Page', then click on 'Owner Registry' Select the 'Model' of tractor, Click on 'Search' For example there are 572 WD's listed. Gary |

Gary is correct, be sure to add you tractor to the registry on this site. I also have compiled a spreadsheet of data from this site as well as other WDs I have come across. I correct the years and remove non-WDs based on serial numbers, fix formatting and spelling, and have them all ordered by serial number and year. Nice to have a reference and a secure registry that will not be corrupted or deleted by spam. If you add your tractor to this site I will add it to mine as well.
