We have a 2019 Ford FLEX like Floyd.... About 25 MPG.... Had a couple Explorers and needed to upgrade to a GOOD 3rd seat, more room, and better milage.. Didnt need the 4 wheel drive 99.9% of the time ............. The FLEX is flawless.. Never has a problem.. V6 and 6 speed.... reminds me of the old station wagon we had 50 years ago.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

2017 Exploder here, wife averages 20-21 to/from work over a year. On highways as going to visit relatives in TX or SE MO on cruise most of time can see it rise to 23, current miles just rolled 60,000. Old Faithful 2010 Pimpala crude simple 4dr even with AC running gets over 25, squeezed 27 going to OK in it, and at a aging 167000 miles.

My wife has a 2020 Explorer with the 2.3twin turbo and all wheel drive. We just got back from Cape Cod (about 8 hours each way). For the whole trip (travelling and sightseeing), we got 27.2 mpg.

Hesitant to mention - our 2017 Honda CRV averaged 30+ local driving, 33.5 hwy. unless loaded (bikes, top carrier, food & clothing for 3 month stay in Fl. 28mpg). New one is doing just a tad better.
