Ya'll know,,I felt sure we had discussed this not too long ago but after a "Search" I do not find anything,,,so I'll give it a go here.

About 5 months ago I bought some "Over The Ear" models to the tune of $2300 and am wondering if I made a mistake,,,,?? The temples on over the ear models tend to make the hearing aids ride up on your ear and mine have literally made one ride up so high it fell to the ground,,,just a good thing it was on carpet and not at the lake,,,
These are a name brand name models and don't want to trash them. They have Bluetooth to my IPhone and that comes in mighty handy.
My main issue is there are times when I get the sensation that they are blocking all the sounds and only magnifying some others,,,,?? kinda hard to explain, but is becoming quite uncomfortable to the point it sounds like I'm in a tunnel,,,??
I'm now wondering if some in the ear models is what I need,,,,???
 Any thoughts and comments,,,,???

In the ear models pop out and you lose them too. My brother in-law lost his. I need some but haven't made the leap because there are just so many questions. Not as bad as my neighbor. He called a guy about a manure spreader he was going to look at and ended up in the wrong town 2 hours in the wrong direction because he misunderstood the guy on the phone. He got to the town he thought was right and found the street the guy named, it was a common name alot of city streets have. When he couldn't find it he called the guy and found out he was in the wrong town.

They need to make ones that attach to your eyeglasses because when the hearing goes your eye site is getting bad also.

I don’t like mine either.
I keep them in a little box on the nightstand and they stay there.
I know it’s not fair to my better half but I really don’t care for them.

Shameless,,,"You rascal, you!!"  that was just a figure of speech,,,don'cha know,,,?Big smileBig smile

Actually,,These are becoming quite uncomfortable because it sounds as if I'm in a tunnel,,even when there is no "noise" present,,,If I remeove one of the units,,it helps with the "tunnel" effect,,,,
I do not believe they were like this when new,,,but who can remember beyond a week or so,,,,??Wink

My dad took his in for service and he said their was a new guy that worked on them. When he got them back he said they weren't tuned as well as the previous dr-tech had them.

I have over the ear type, when arrived first time on the ENT doc had to change the wire to the ear piece as were too short, rode UP on my ear and I did wear glasses at the time, no longer need. Did a hearing test with them on and then computer adjusted the tone I was not getting. No Tunnel sensation, hear a lot more than used to, but a BIG However, when in large gatherings or restaurants or events I will at times just turn them off and pocket as the distractive all around noise becomes too much.

In the ear models so far Cannot be made dialable to specific tones, become just amplifiers to every noise per my ENT doc.

I have had mine at least a year... got them cause a friend who speaks softly kept complaining when i asked him to repeat / speak up.
mine are over the ear and I wear glasses...i put them on after my glasses (cause my glasses are always on) and they seem to settle in right beside the glasses,,, or maybe I have gotten used to them.
mine have three settings, crowd (the low setting) normal (the middle setting) and speech (high) .  I don't do the connection to phone cause for me it is easier to just reach up to my ear and change the setting without playing with a phone.     YES on the high setting it pulls in more background noise so only use that whenever there is very little in the background and I want to hear one person .... most time i use the low setting or push to "normal" if the situation is that i want to hear a little more.  the low setting does make things a little more amplified, louder, able to hear what i would not hear normally.
good luck...

Yes, you need longer wire  that go from hearing aid to the ear and then they will stay down where they belong

When one sounds like it’s just blocking, cup your hand over that ear, if you hear a squeal, the speaker is inserted into your ear far enough. One complaint I have is wearing sunglasses, they come in contact the main unit which is irritating. I don’t wear mine much on weekends, my wife hates that.

I know I should have them also, but from everything I DO HEAR, they just don't do what anyone wants.  I guess it's just easier to say "WHAT" and still miss a lot of things.
I can hear almost everything just fine, it's only a few tones that I am deaf to.  (My wife's voice for one) LOL
I know my Mother had a VERY expensive set and she complained about them all the time too.  They'd adjust them at the hospital and we could also do it with our cell phone app.  She hated em!
