    Posted: 07 Jun 2012 at 8:45pm
My dad called and told me that his Haybine quit working, specifically the PTO box output stopped. He said it didn't make a noise, just stopped cutting.
The knife is not jammed as you can move it back and forth. The PTO shaft rotates freely.
I'm dreading that the PTO junction box didn't shred itself. Any ideas?

Rotation In. No rotation out? If so, box is seriously hurt or junk.

If you need a right angle gear box set-up, the 390 MC out here has one, going to scrap soon.

Chris, if Charlie does not take the gearbox, I would be interested in it, just to have a spare.

Also, does yours have a working wobble box yet for the sickle? I would be interested in that part, too.

Randy, have at it. We fixed dad's yesterday
Dad had hit a rock and pinched the blade, it would move a inch in either direction but we replaced the guard and now it works again. Dad is up there in his years and sometimes things are not what it seems.

Wobble box is long gone, will pull the gearbox this weekend. I have lots of PTO shafts off this machine and others if anyone needs a piece for a project.

Well more bad luck. Dad ran it into a dirt mound. My brother looked at it and they can't get the wobble box to turn. Ack!

I took my 17 down and used the NH sickle mower to do what he needed. Felt good to run the tractor in the field. The narrow front sure rides rougher though!
