I have an 8050 mfd and sometimes it will have a slow shift from 2nd to 3rd and it's always when the oil is warm.  I have always figure it was a weak clutch pack or something.  I figure 3rd is just a pass through gear anyway so it doesn't bother me too much.  Typically though it will hold solid progressing through the gears but have had it lag on 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse.  It seems to shift stronger with rpm's up higher.  Could this be a valve problem or is it most likely a 7100 hour powershift trans showing some age?  It drags my 6 row strip tiller like a locomotive so I doubt it's going anywhere too soon!

7000 hrs?......low gerotor pump flow........leaking rubber piston seals on clutch packs........friction discs worn/seperator plates very smooth......low regulating pressure......I'd say time to tear it down and go thru it completely.

If I knew someone that would do it and knew what they were doing I would do it pre-emptively.  I'm afraid it could become a nightmare in the wrong shop.  That was a pretty darn durable design to hold up this many years, it's good in the field.

Here's the deal on these things.  If it is starting to act up, get some time to take it down.  We lost an $0.82 (at the time) o-ring in the rear end of one of our 7060s, and we limped it along for a little while.  Well it ended up costing us a ring gear and pinon, and some other hard parts, because one of the two speed gears welded itself to the pinon shaft because that o-ring didn't hold pressure to the gear sleeve.  It's even worse in the P/S tranny since there are more things to go wrong. You will probably be fine for a little while, but don't push it too far, hard parts are getting harder to find, and therefore more expensive.

Thanks guys, it gets limited use really, 65 acres on the strip tiller and then a little time on the no-till drill.  30-40 hours in the last year.  I might put my feelers out and see if somebody is around that wants to look into it.
