Hi all, new owner here. I bought a WD45 and it runs great and hydraulics all seem good, tires in good shape, but when the previous owner was giving me the rundown he showed me that the oil bath air cleaner was unhooked and said that it needs to be cleaned out. From reading, it looks like they have a metal mesh material in the can that is cleanable/replaceable, how does this all come apart? And how hard of a job is it?

I just did mine a couple weeks ago, there will be around 5 spot welds on the screen and air cleaner, take a sharpened screwdriver and carefully break the welds trying not to bend the screen too much. Then lightly clamp the lip around the tube in the middle in a bench vice and pull the air cleaner so they come apart. Then take the 3 rolls of mesh inside the air cleaner out and take the nail that keeps them rolled up out. Unroll the mesh and clean it out with whatever you like using, then dry them with an air hose. To put the rolls back in wrap the mesh around the pipe extending out of the top of the air cleaner and replace the nail. To slide them back into the air cleaner take a cereal box, roll it into a cone and place it over the pipe then slide the rolls back in and replace the screen
red and green are nice for christmas, but orange is all year round

I just used a can of engine degreaser and sprayed it down good then let it sit for an hour or so and then washed it out with the garden hose.

all fixed, disassembled it and unrolled the mesh, took sprayed it with degreaser then let it sit for an hour or so then took it to a high pressure car wash and sprayed it out. Then just let it dry and reassembled. Actually there was 3 rolls of the wire mesh and only the bottom one showed any excessive muck.

Did mine with a pressure washer and degreaser.  Easy as pie...
