For those of you that remember all of my problems with power director...my latest thing was not being able to build pressure by shimming releif...found the valve and seat were scored and damaged.. found a early style valve in good shape, now was able to shim pressure up, hard to say what it is exactly but in low it bounces from 240-300, and high it is around 150-160. Im trying to find a fluid filled gauge to get rid of the bounces, but what is going on with it? Ive adjusted everything and checked everything, unless im missing something. I really hope someone knows whats going on!?
Thanks, Carl

Well what is probably going on, is you high clutch has bad or weak seals, if you ran it a long time with low pressure, it could have damaged the high side. It also could be that is the relief was scored, so could be the high side of the spool valve, did you replace the whole valve body, or just the relief valve in the same body?

Is it possible to charge the high side clutch pack with air. And listen for air leaks in the pd cavity?

Have to pull valve off, but I've done that, didn't notice anything. I had someone looking and listening in the filler hole.

Its good now! Plunger wasn't getting pulled far enough on this valve. Worked for other one but need to adjust for this one.
Thanks! Carl |
