what the hydraulics on a C run off of......is it the same fluid that lubes the transmission, and if so does one fill it at the plug on the left of the transmission, just left of the shifter? What type of fluid? I have an IT manual but it's about worthless.

Trying to mow heavy grass, but lift is not responding when I try to lift for really heavy spots.....on the level it will lift, on slopes not so much

Yep, all the same fluid and a universal hytran fluid works fine. If you have old fluid in there, it might be best to drain it and flush it out with some diesel to get some of the muck out.
Seems there is a gasket in there that is supposed to keep fluid in the back when going downhill that can deteriorate and leave you short if on an incline very long. I remember Bill Long posting about this before.

Thanks guys. Chuck, this is a machine pieced together from "residue" from a rebuild using the best of a couple of derelicts by a good friend of mine and his young sons. it's hard to say what was left out, let alone deteriorated! LOL

Lou, there is a dam gasket that pools the hyd oil in a specific place for pickup. If it fails it can run out or cavitate momentarily. HTH Tracy Martin

You're very welcome, I had a great time talking. I'll get a pic up as soon as I remember to get the camera out of the truck
