I've looked all over my H3/HD3 Allis Chalmers for a serial number but cannot find anything that correlates to a serial number. I'm sure this tractor was made in the 1960s but I can't find any indication of the number of hours on the machine. Sharing this photos in case anyone understands what it means -- DC23S is imprinted on the right side (pictured). 11913 is engraved on a plate behind the blade. GDN16802 F on the muffler or exhaust.. Hoping to list this for sale.

That’s a casting number. The serial is stamped into the bell housing of transmission where it bolts to the engine. Should be on upper left side as you sit on it.

I think I found it—H-2296-R -- still unclear on if it is a 1961 or 1962.

Chassis s/n began at 1001.  Gas engine s/n for an H-3 also began at 1001. So, figuring there weren't many HD-3 diesel engines built, it still probably makes it a 1961 chassis build. 1962 models started at 3199. I don't think they made 900 diesel versions in 1961. But who knows? Maybe the HD-3's had chassis serial numbers all their own?
