i NEED SOME HELP I REPAIRED THE ENGINE ON THIS FORK LIFT IT RUNS SWEET OWNER IS SO HAPPTY HE WANTS ME TO FIX THE BRAKES.  i HAVE A PARTS MANUAL NO SERVICE MANUAL CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH GETTING THE BRAKE DRUMS OFF OR WHAT IS NECESSARY TO GET AT THE BRAKE SHOES? I HAVE PULLED THE SPINDAL NUT OFF AND REMOVED THE OUTER BEARING THE WHEEL MOVES A LITTLE BUT NOT MUCH ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

you'll have to adjust the brakes down...cant remember which type of adjuster you have ...there will be a hole in the backing plate or a hole in the drum...hole in backing plate may look like a drum bung
There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

ok i did a little looking at work today, you truck has "slide bar" brake adjusters. there should be 2 slots in the backing plate, one on each side. you should be able to use a large screwdriver in those slots to compress the slide. when you pull the drum be carefull it has a bull gear in it and will be very heavy. once the drum is off you will see a tin grease shield covering the brakes it unbolts easily. the brakes are pretty basic after that. you didn't say what the brake problem is but if it is a low pedal especially on the first presss of the pedal then those adjusted bars could be the problem. if you do any work i would recomend replacing them.
