I was bush hogging the other day and a back story all my fluids were full. Everything was working like it was suppose to...now I was mowing and all of sudden the tractor wouldn't move at all. PD nothing. The thing is all the hydraulics works just fine the pto was still running but it was like the clutch went out in it. So made the call to my dad he came over he said there was nothing wrong with the clutch...so it has to be in the PD I assume I just replaced it 3 years ago....I think the PD exploded in it and is that possible. I haven't put any pressure gauges on the PD yet any suggestions out there.

might seem silly but make sure you didnt have some tall weeds pull the cotter pins and knock out the pins in the linkage that run the pd valve.  if the pto is working its in the PD whether its oil or mechanical related or in the transmission

shift gears - without pushing in the foot clutch - should grind - if not lost the center in the clutch if it does, check above suggestions... while watching the PTO making sure it is engaged.  IT should turn, and stop when push clutch in.  Never seen a PD TOTALLY fail all at once unless lost oil supply.

Brush cutter was still working, so has got to be PD or spider gear pin. I guess it could have broke axel or some other shaft which would be almost unheard of.   MACK

Yes I had power steering and the pto runs and stops as it should. Is there away to check and see if the spider gear pin fell out without tearing into it. When this all happened I did have a hydraulic leak under the console, but when we checked the fluid levels there was just enough to show up on the PD dip stick. Does anyone know of anybody works on allis that knows what their doing located in south east Indiana.

If you drain all the hydraulic and transmission oil, you can remove the PTO shaft and look in thru the hole and see it. Three bolts and a flashlite and 15 gallons of drained oil.

Ok I have checked PD pressure I have pressure on the high and low side. The pin is in the rear. But I don't have any pto now. When I bush hogging and I heard that pop the mower was running. I was doing some reading could there be an input shaft that broke. Does anyone have any other suggestions.

Next thing I'd do is remove pd valve body and cover, drain oil first, to have a look inside the torque tube. If everything looks ok take the top off trans and see if you see anything.
