In the past I have restored? at least repaired, without keeping a picture or video of what I did. From what I start with, to problems, to the finish.
I started a 1944 WC that I have had 10 or 15 years, and it is the same age as me.

I'm getting ready to rebuild a WD motor. I've got an NOS AC engine kit that I'll be installing. Not sure if I'll use the 5.7:1 or 6.6:1 compression ratio pistons. Crank was turned to .020 on both mains and rods. I plan to video it as well.

Definitely go with the higher comp. It'll help make up the difference between the 201 and the 226.
