Norm Swinford's book list all the rear axle sizes for the 7010-7080, but nothing for the 8010-8070. Reason I ask - I want to know which 70xx rear wheel centers will swap onto which 80xx? Is my follow guess close to right:
7010 & 8010 = 3.625" axle, 7030 (7040) & 8030 = 3.75" axle, 7050 (7060) & 8050 = 3.75" axle, 7080 & 8070 = 4.0" I'm also assuming the 80xx may have similar 70xx long/ special axle options?? |

Just keep the original clamps with the tractor, center doesn't matter.

Both the 7030 and 7050 are 3.625. I don't know if any other 7010 thru 8070 shared that axle size. And yes from what I've read here before you just need the correct wedges. The wheel hubs are all the same.

Oh and if I remember right, the 7060 and possibly the 7045 and 8050 could be had with 4" long axles.

I believe that the 210. 220, 7010, 7020, 7030 and 7050 are all 3 5/8" ( 3.625" ) . I know that the wedges I removed from a scrap 7050 replaced my pooched 220 wedges without issue. There was a slight difference in the 7050 wedge design. The 220 had all 3 holes in the "non key way" wedge tapped for the jack bolts and the key way wedge had none of the 3 holes tapped for the jack bolts. The 7050 wedges had the outer 2 holes in each wedge half tapped for the jack bolts. Using the jack bolts had equal success with both wedge designs. I looked at a 7020 in the same boneyard but it's wedges were only a 2 hole in each wedge design. The 7020 axle did measure 3.625" but I did not like that 2 hole design.

the only way to KNOW what size axle was on a 7000 or 8000 is to measure them,,, short axles, long axles and Mexican hat duals yielded different size axles installed to match the duals. These units are at the age many wheels have been changed.. We have seen duals mounted with the wrong wedges...

Dealer lit. on the 8070's tells about 3-3/4" axles if it had FWA. Ours are 1985's and the have FWA and 4" rear axles.
