The snow blower just couldn't handle the deep wet snow, so I went with the loader. I guess it's time to look into a blade for it.

Put snow bucket extensions on it with a one piece cutter bar. You can push it like a blade and still carry and dump.
I haven't used my loader yet this year. The snow topped the cab on the tractor so I've been chopping it down and blowing it out.

I had a snow bucket with another loader I had but I sold it. One of those things I never thought I would need. This was the first time in the 25 years I've lived here I couldn't do it with my blower tractor so I probably won't look to hard for one.

We've had maybe 4 inches of the white stuff down here on the plains this fall.  Of course up in the mountains, there are feet of it falling, good for the skiers and our irrigation next summer.

Are you saying the snow was as high as the tractor cab. I don't mind snow, but I don't think I'd like that!

Go drive through (over) the "Tug Hill Plateau" in Upstate NY, often mentioned on national tv when "lake effects snow" is discussed. Having grown up not to far from there, folks find it hard to believe when you tell them a 190 or 4020 is used with a blower, just to clear your driveway so you can get out.
Serious snow folks for sure in that area!
Pretty country in summers too.

we get lake effect snow here something fierce, ive moved more snow in the last 4 days than I did all last year. we are along the coast of lake huron!! if I look out my front window at home I can see the lake!! I love snow for Christmas but can leave the day after. The up side to blowing snow this year is I get to be cozy warm in my 7020 on the blower!

Don't go sugarcoating our weather, Ted. Wait until Sunday morning and update the weather situation.

Sounds like much of the country is going to get some temp changes this weekend and I have cancelled shipment of 10 young heifers from two hours away on Saturday afternoon because of our forecast. We are forecast (they, our illustrious "tv meteorologist") for 70-72 Saturday mid-day with a fall off starting late afternoon, ending with the teens by 5-6:00 am Sunday.
Even with closed top and installing the optional canvas side curtains on the trailer, not worth stressing the young ladies in the cold so I will wait till next week.

Starting to wonder if our little buddy in NE has started his winter machine up for a good blast for all . . . . .
