After a year long sleep, I am going to be starting the new and improved 301 engine in the coming weeks.  The injector pump and primer have also been rebuilt.  All of the lines are dry.

The operator's manual only indicates a bleeding screw on the filter housing, nothing about bleeders on the Roosa pump - Can anyone give me some more details?  I do have the lines loose at each injector, but think there should be a place at the pump to expel the air.

Many thanks!

Start will a full tank of fuel. Open the plug on the filterhousing and make sure all the air is bled out. Make sure you have good flow going to the pump and crack open the injector lines at the injectors. Crank on it until diesel squirts out at the injectors. If bled correctly it won't take much cranking. Tighten back injectors and it will start

Leave  line from filter to pump loose at pump, pump hand pump until all air is out. Tighten line and pump hand pump until it gets hard. Spin engine over a few times then pump hand pump up again. Do this until it gets fuel out inj. Lines. Tighten lines and it should start.     MACK

Might help to prefill filter if you can. Even though you'll lose a lot of it putting it on.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Next question:  I do not have the wiring harness on the tractor, so there are no wires connected to the alternator.  Will there be any damage to the alternator with it spinning with nothing hooked up to it?  I wouldn't think so, just want to make sure.
