That's good news, Lonn!
Otherwise, a very sad day in the A-C world.

Just read the article, and whoa! White was attempting to take over Allis-Chalmers by force in 1968? Sounds a little scary. What if they had ended there?

When I was 21 yrs old in 1979 I bought a new AC 175 and in 1981 a new 6 row cultivator and a new 2300 disk, I am just glad I can say I bought some new AC eqpt. from the dealer before that bad day.

If they would've concentrated on more core business and could've spun off other business that was dragging them down before the recession it may have been different,,, from what I've read and heard I do believe Dave Scott hated the Unions and did his best to extinguish them at Allis

If only.... I just read Rltool's post about the turbine he took pictures of.  Got me to thinking that if AC was still in business some of the thousands of wind generators scattered across the country would have AC name plates on them.

Seems to be the case of most companies that go under. Over extending them selves and not knowing when to dump stuff.
Then ad in huge million dollar salaries for ceos and presidents of every thing else.
