Well I got home yesterday and my grandfather had just traded a guy for his restored Allis Chalmers "C" tractor. It even came with a trailer to haul it on! A gentleman that has been by to purchase a few parts from us brought it by because he was in need of a utility trailer. Well he knew we had an "extra" one that we bought this summer (actually wanted to keep it) that we just had re-floored. He said he really needed that 20 foot utility trailer and wanted to trade. Given the condition of the tractor, he decided to trade him. Now we have an A-C "C" and trailer that we don't need and will be selling. Nonetheless, the guy did a terrific job on the tractor and it will be fun playing with it until it sells. I think I even have a drawbar to put on it.

Thank you Cal. I need to get the serial number of the tractor. I really don't know much about them.

What would this tractor and trailer combo even be worth?

Is that a generator? I doubt it could keep up with the draw of those lights.

Nice tractor

Nice tractor

Yeah, if I was to keep it I would probably put the original lights on it, or maybe try some 6 volt LED lights. These work though and don't look too bad.

Looks like someone converted an old boat trailer into a flat bed.

Mine has one too. Didn't know they were somewhat rare when I got the tractor. I have the tank and the valve underneath, but I need to figure out how to run a line from it to the carb. Guess the best thing would be to put a T at the carb. I don't plan on running Kero, but it would be a nice touch.

I didn't know they were rare either. On Farmalls of the same era, they are a "dime a dozen".  I guess it would be beneficial to find the tank and lines to hook it up.?

Real nice looking C.  You know, I really think the C is the nicest looking tractor Allis Chalmers made.  In fact, I remember it on the cover of a 40's Farm Journal pulling a side delivery rake.
Good Luck!

Maybe I can turn it around quick and sell it. I just don't have the needed space and adequate storage to keep such a nice tractor. It needs to stay in enclosed storage.

Quote Hubnut - "Where abouts in Alabama are you?"

Hubnut, for some reason your post isn't showing up here, but I just quoted it in case something went wrong. I did get your message through email though.

We are located in McCalla Alabama near the interstate. Right in the middle of Bham and Tuscaloosa. Come see us sometime! We will be at the Allis Chalmers show in Gadsden tomorrow for the first half of the day.
