 Topic: Spin-out Cam Socket Wrench

My WD45 has the standard 1/2" square adjusters on the spin-out cams. I'm wondering what wrench or (preferably) socket is used to adjust them. I've been looking for some sockets designed for square bolt heads so I can get maximum "bite" on the cams, but I haven't found any thus far. I'd appreciate any suggestions for sources or alternative tools. [I've though about welding two 1/2" drive sockets together but am hoping for another idea!]

Take 2 old sockets and put them face to face with the square ends out. Weld together.

Most any place that sells good sockets will have 8 point sockets that will work. An impact socket would be best for this, having thicker sidewalls.

Square? Think all the eccentric cams I have are hex. I just use a 3/4 socket.

WD45 should have 3/4" hex cam bolts. Sounds like you have CA parts on yours.

Now that is interesting! I surely didn't know that. Are the correct ones still available?

I've still got the shop built one I made for the D10 and 12. Welded 2 impact grade extensions together, at the male ends...

I've got a few sets of the correct ones, but they are all rusted solid. Need to free them up.

The CA used the square head adjusters and the WD had hex head adjusters. LOL Bob

CA Had 3 lockers and one hanger. WD,WD-45 has 4 lockers.

Tried my tool - I was able to tighten all the CA-style 'lockers' - 4 on each rim and also a 'stopper'. :) But the tractor is suffering from low self-esteem since it has the wrong locks!! I'll be watching for the proper ones.

What size tires/rims do you have on your WD45?

3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Hi Don. The tires are 13.6x28, marked as replacements for 12x28. The rims are (probably) 12x28, but I don't have a good way to measure the width except that the tire sidewalls seem to be in nearly the same plane as their beads.
