AMA auction.com finally posted prices from last Saturdays auction, the whole list is on "auction prices" on the left side of their page. The 74 7050 brought $6500, I believe a forum member bought it. Two 1980 7060's brought $5000 each, one 1980 7060 brought $5750 as did the 1975 7060. The D21 went to Lapps a dozen or so miles north east for $8100. The old AC combines were $300 ea. Looks like there were some bargains to be had there, kinda glad I wasn't there. I wonder who the AC dealer was out in that area?

John, the dealer in the area was Farm Power in the next town south, Yuma, Colorado.
They ran a tight ship, well organized and even had engines overhauled and ready to rock during harvest so they did not have to wait on Agco to get customers rolling again. They sold out a few years back, we went to that auction as well, hauled a load a day for at least a week. Our yard is still a mess from all the goodies. :) We got the combines, but to be fair, only one had an engine, and it was an early 301 on a 73 L with the Simms pump that dad had no use for. Not a one had a single walker or crank left in it. :) We took two home, and sold #3 with the engine to the scrapper, who I assume will be pulling the skid complete and selling it at the next AMA auction, as he is a good scrapper who tries to save some stuff. I wish we could have gotten more, but removal times and how long the forklift was available was not on our side. I am happiest about our little factory Gleaner header trailers, made around the era of the C2. one is pretty rough, the other is decent. Got a spare block (no main caps. :( ) but it came with a waterpump and a cast pulley instead of the stamped steel, which is much nicer. dad allready has re-purposed the water pump on the 7040 yard tractor. re-using the gasket for the suction neck bit him as I know it should and was glad it did. :) (he might learn. :) ) we get to pull the a/c compressor the change that now... :) |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
