Hi guys, I made a thread about a year ago about my 615 backhoe that wouldn't start. Well me and my neighbor went through the wiring and got the little diesel running. But the reason it was parked was because it would stop moving under load. But from what my dad told me was they would fill the transmission with fluid and it would move again. I have found the leak and fixed that. All the fluids for the trans are topped off but it still won't move. I lifted the machines rear wheels off the ground with the outriggers put it in gear and nothing. We even tried spinning the wheels by hand and they are locked and won't turn. And NO there brakes we're not engaged. I'd really rather not have to split the machine if i don't have too. I just don't have anywhere where i can setup it up to do such a big job. Need some help i'm at a loss right now

If the wheels were not locked up, It would be the reverser/shuttle. That is essentially a clutch pack that is compressed with the pedal or lever on the left. If the wheels are locked up, then it is the transmission/ rear end. One single thing usually does not fix these machines that have been sitting.

The shuttle is mechanical and simply runs in oil. The HD-3, I-60, I-600 and 615 all have the same mechanical clutch. We have rebuilt our HD-3 as it would not move. We split the tractor.

the rear ends in these are week If you beat on it with the shuttle. you'll split the ring gear. I bought mine with the same problem. had to change the rear end. Put the transmission in neutral. then see if the rear wheels turn it they don't it is in the rear end
