Posting Photos: when you click on the "post reply", the page that drops down will have a small square at the top with what looks like a green tree inside the square. Click on the square and you will get a drop instructions page that will allow you to select the photo from where it is stored on your computer. Follow the information on the page and you can add photos to your posts. It helps to hit the enter button bar a couple of times between the text and the photos. This is my B with mower.

Orange Man - great that you were able to free up the clutch! Isn't it nice when a fix actually works?

Orange Man, Great job on the C. You all never cease to amaze me the lengths you will go to to restore these units. I know it did not look that good new. Great to hear you freed the clutch. Good Luck! Bill Long ps: Stan, Nice looking B. Another great job. |

Nice looking C! I like the steps for climbing on board - my C has an implement bar that serves the same purpose for me.

I did a Model C clutch rebuild after my engine jammed and could not be released with any push-pull techniques. For years the clutch had been sticking. I found the clutch housing to be full of sludge as well as a piece of an old starter gear that, I think, was causing the jam. Tony Carbaugh, (Tonystractors.com), recommended cleaning it out with Oven Cleaner. It took quite a few applications and some scraping and pressure washing but it came clean. I haven't tried this but spraying oven cleaner in clutch access hole and pressure washing it out may be a way of improving clutch performance without spliting the tractor. Has anyone tried this? |

Thanks guys, even my boys (20,18 years old )were impressed.Their comments made me feel good! I was told the front tires came off a chevette (doughnut) I have one original tire and rim that came with it and I am looking for the other. I am fortunate that my boss lets me work on unit at work after hours and during the weekend. This tractor took me one month to restore. Thats doing my chores well after dark. I think I will wait til warmer weather to start on my WD45. Once again thanks for the help Vance
