    Posted: 11 Jul 2010 at 10:17pm
I have a WD45 engine that I will have in the OPOP auction.  I originally intended to bring it up as a complete engine (and for the most part it still is).   I just want everyone on here to know what I have found with it so they can bid accordinly.  It has no intake manifold (didn't come with one when I bought it) and the oil lines are gone.  I pulled the head to clean up the intake ports (mud daubers) and when I pulled the rocker arm shaft one of the mounts broke in half.  Otherwise all the valves look in decent shape and move freely.  When I got the head off I realized it was a rebuilt engine.  There is not a spot of carbon on the pistons (clean as a whistle), sleeves look decent too.  Here is the interesting part.  They are flat top pistons used in conjunction with the 45 head.  Are these M&W pistons?  They have AE stamped into the top of each of them (factory).  The bottom end seems good (I didn't tear into it).  I stuck a battery in it and it spins very good with no noise.

I will bring this to Dales auction with the head off so everybody can have a look at the pistons before they bid.

Thanks
Adam
