TRACK - as with any crawler - undercarriage is the # 1 item
Then when a machine was made say 60 years or more back - lot of things wear out or become marginal.
rear housing and oil leaks be they on transmission or on the final drive system .
If a G series then the loader linkage and cycle of the hydraulics for smooth and normal cycle times. (Hyd pump should load engine at end of cycle to almost kill engine if pump is good )
Master clutch should feel positive with a SNAP in and out, steering clutches should allow each side to stop drive and machine to turn it that direction slightly . When clutch is pulled for turn to side and brake is applied a stop of the track and quick turn should be felt .
