Ready to install the new cork gasket between the frame and housing for the belt pulley tube/cover on the wd do I soak it in oil first or install it dry

Bob,
I pressed mine in dry and it never sealed right. The next time I intend to soak it up first. I ended up making a bracket that mounts on the three bolts surrounding the cap with a strap across the cap to slow the leak. Probably should have gotten a new cork!
