I bought 3 garden tractors: a Sears Suburban, a Simplicity, and a David Bradley. All 3 have single cylinder cast iron B&S engines. Where can I find out info on these tractors and engines?   Thanks, Scott.

Sears has online information on most of their stuff.  Sears.com, I believe, then you will need numbers off of the machine to get specifics.

For the engines, go to B&S site, ther's a link to where you enter in model, type and code and you'll get the engine's illustrated manual in PDF format. Once you save it, copy and rename it to something 'normal', B&S12hpVS.pdf.
By the way the 'code' is the year-month-day and shift  when built (yrmtdy....). If the engine is original to the tractor, it's agreat way to figure out how old the unit is!

Check out www.asecc.com for old Briggs info. If they turn out to be model 23 engines I know I have several connecting rods and possibly a gasket set or 2.
