    Posted: 14 Mar 2012 at 3:26pm
I have 6-30s on the back of my G.  One tire is not great and I have a chance at a 7.2-30.  I would be putting this on one side and have 6-30 on the other.  Would this cause me rear end problems?  Should I not try to get this tire?
 thanks,
 Joe

Maybe if you drove on hard pavement 4-5 K miles. These tires might be the same size anyway. The old numbers were measure different than the new ones.
Here is a chart for different numbers that are the same tire size but it doesn't show the narrower ones.

http://www.millertire.com/products/tractor-tires/rear-tractor-tires/7-2-30_-7-30/7-2-30-goodyear-traction-sure-grip/ says 7.2-30 replaces 6-30

The old designation was rim width, the new one is the fattest tire width.

I looked again and my old one is 6-30 or a 6.2-30 depending on the rim.  The "new" one is a a 7-30.  Thanks for the help.
