Hello, a bud of mine got his Gramp's G after Gramps passed away.
Took it apart, cleaned & painted, reassembled.
Has a plow, cultivator, and #4 sickle mower.
Belt bulley runs all the time. Nothing obvious to turn it off.
Not like a WD.
Ideas on how to turn off the PTO?
Anybody got any closeup pics of mounts for #4 mower on the G?
Anyone in Iowa or northern Missouri got a G disk to sell?
Used to be a gent from WA state Eldon Jons on this forum, is he still on here some?
Eldon's a good source of AC info, I've used him quite a bit down the years.

The Belt pulley is driven off a gear in the clutch housing before it enters the transmission. It will be spinning anytime the clutch is engaged.When you push the clutch down, it should stop as long as the wheels are not moving. There is no way to turn it off unless you remove the pto assembly and remove the driven gear from the assembly.

Jason, thanks for the reply, yeh I don't see Bob taking it apart & removing it, he'd just like to be able to turn it on and off like on most tractors. He will want it to work with the #4 mower, and he mentioned he thinks there is a belt idler / tensioner of sorts so you can turn the mower off & on.
Eldon actually emailed me last night, THANKS ELDON.
I thought if anyone had closeup pics of #4 sickler mower mounts & where they go on the tractor, it might save BOB some figgering.
He has a #4 manual but I think it's short on pics, or something.
I've not been real involved in his project, but I might get closer to it soon.

The belt pulley can be turned off if you have the hydraulic pump behind it. My G has the belt pulley "stacked" on the hydraulic pump and both are shut off with the same lever.

I have a book with set-up instructions for all the mounted implements that Allis Chalmers made for the G. Send me your e-mail address and I send you a copy for the #4 mower. Yes there is a, foot operated, belt tightener/idler on the mower. I bought the book from Jensales. Dusty

I'm always curious when I see someone mention they have a G cultivator. Allis made at least three, the single row cultivator, the independent gang cultivator and the 60" double tool bar. They also made n n80-inch single tol bar. All could be equipped with various clamps, shanks, shoes, sweeps and weeders. Which did you get?
Also your's is the third disk I' ve come across that is thought to be for the G but catalogs I own don't show any. Can you tell us more about yours?

This is my friend's rig, not mine.
I'll see GLENN if Bob wants your manual, and I'll get back with you if so.
OldIronGUy, Bob has a plow, cultivator and mower, he wishes he had a disk.
I'll see if we can get pics of his cultivator and post up here.
It will be at least a few days, maybe a couple of weeks, implements are at his farm a county over.
