What's the best material for making a new fuel tank cap gasket for diesel. I used cork last time but it's shot after a few years. Has anyone tried nitrile? Thanks.

Just buy a new cap, it will have fuel compatible material for the gasket.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

I've gone that route and have had the gasket go bad in a short time, same with my portable transfer tank.

Pre Vent brand fuel cap for the portable tank. Sandy Lake for the fuel cap for the tractor.

I ordered an AGCO gasket. If it's the same as came with a new cap it won't last too long. If it breaks down I will try the nitrile.

Tom-I am already a happy SLI customer of many years. Thanks all! Edited by Ben (MI) - 08 Jun 2020 at 8:19pm |
