I do not know what the thickness of the friction material is; however, you can still purchase it new from AGCO (Sandy Lake) or from ChrisCT; maybe you can call them and they can measure theirs and give you the answer.
Hand clutch slippage is generally due to worn friction, weak springs, oil on the friction, too much clearance when the clutch is opened, and/or weak springs. I have found that some machining of the clutch "ears" really helps to prevent slippage of the clutch. I have 2 pdf files, complete with pictures of the process I use to rebuild the hand clutch. Greg has a REALLY good file on this -- He mentioned twice about the weak springs, when I compared my old ones to the new ones there was 1/4 " differance in length.

The linings I have are .192 or just over 3/16", sorry for the late post,HTH. I have 1 set here w/ rivets if you need some.

thanks guys...tore down this CA to clean it up and replace seals before paint for a guy. The lining looks to be right at .191-.192! It was rusted together when I took it apart..it would not release while driving. Didn't get a chance to hook it to anything solid to try and free it up. What should the springs measure? I took a 3M pad to the clutch to clean the rust off. I think I'll be ok puttin' it back together like that. Or should I put new facings on?? Chris...whattya get for a set of linings? I would say if your facings are the factory thickness and the rivets are still recessed, and not obviously cracked,glazed, etc, no need to replace. sounds like your clutch was set-up from non-use, open to weather, etc.
