I got my new 45 started tonight and hyd fluid squirted everywhere. It's missing the hyd hose that goes to the left rear lift cylinder. Can I just screw a plug in it and try the loader and the other rear lift cylinder. I ask this question because on my other 45 it doesn't have a rear remote just a cap on the line. I realize this is a different line but just wondering. Also what's the best hydraulic fluid for a WD45? I would like to get the loader working because I've got several cypress 9" x 9" x 16' posts to set next week and my back still hurts from the last ones.

You can plug any and all lines if you want. I plugged all lines but one at the valve up front and ran the last line to a 3 way valve. I have one position for the loader, one for the lift arms and one for the remote connection.
Any hytran or transdraulic fluid will work fine. Wally world even sell it. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 24 Jul 2012 at 6:22am |

Charley thanks for the info. The guy I bought it from gave me a 2 way valve and I wondered if I could use it for the loader? I'm thinking if you push it forward it would raise the loader and backwards would let it backfeed to lower the loader. Is this correct?

Show me a picture of it. If your talking about a valve like on a log splitter, it won't do you much good. If it is a 2 way diverter, you can use it to isolate the lift arms while using the loader and Isolate the loader to use the lift arms. You would still use the original hydraulic lever on the tractor to operate the loader and lift arms though.

The direction that the lever works will depend on which way you hook the lines up. If you don't like the way it works, swap the lines.
Plugging a hydraulic line won't hurt anything as far as the hydraulic system goes. You would run into problems if you were using the lift arms with only one cylinder... it would put a lot of stress on the arm that did have a cylinder and/or it would raise up crooked... |

Charley the valve I got isn't an isolator it's just a 2 way up or down hydraulic valve probably not for single acting cylinders. I just wondered if I could use it for the loader with or without an isolator valve. I was thinking I could get better control of the loader.

I don't see any advantage to adding that valve.
