 Topic: faded paint-any ideas

I know a while back there was a good post on how to "restore" faded/oxidized paint. I have an 8000 series tractor and the paint is good just really faded. Don't want to paint-any techniques to bring it back ( maybe not like new but decent again).

a and i products have a prduct dacoda rub and shine does a really good job spray and wipe

Try New-Finish , in the orange bottle , many places have it and it does wonders on faded paint. Little elbow grease and the magic stuff from that bottle and it brings back the shine and removes lots of oxidation of the paint. Just don't plan on painting over it unless you have a good way to remove all of it as paint wont stick to finish afterwards.

Wet sand it with 2000, then meguiars cleaner wax #6, then meguiars #26 to finish.

I have two methods that I use depending on the condition of the original surface. For paint like you have described (excellent original), I use fine or medium cut rubbing compound applied by hand as Stan mentioned. The other method, which I recently used on my D15 II with nice original paint but minimal surface rust in places, is to wet sand with fine steel wool (#00 or #000) and your favorite penetrating oil (I use Kroil). Both do a great job of bringing out the original color without scratching or burning the paint.

I have used a product called color restore that is used on boats that works real nice.you can put it on by hand or use a buffer and it brings the color back and does not scratch
