How much work/money would be involved in getting parts and putting fertilize boxes on an AC 4 row planter that doesn't have boxes? The planter is at a dealer down the road, looks like a 333 in the picture (haven't went to check it out yet), but only has planting units and no fertilize boxes or anything.

Would it be worth my time and money to do it?

Don't know about price but there are getting to be more and more around here with planters set up without fertilizer at all. I'm considering just broadcast spreading (as I already do) then come back with liquid side dress later. With today's rigs they can side dress with very tall corn. They say to side dress with the corn at 3 or 4 feet tall for best results.

i broadcast and have for years after bagged fertilizer became so expensive, if a guy had a tender vehicle to handle the fertilizer it would be better for the crop in the row in my opinion,

but finding fertilizer boxes  will be tough.

the old metal boxes are usually rusted out and most fiberglass boxs get busted after the metal auger rust up and break the fiberglass when not properly freed

i sidedress with a dry bulk buggy at the point that i can rely on the corn to straighten up about 3 feet, it might burn the top leaves a little but will soon green up out of it, i have done it this way since the 70's
