I know its the wrong color but I can't find any other opinions on it. I have been looking for a good used haybine 12-16' and I can't find much in my area due to our rock problem. I have located a 1600a Deere in SD 16'. I was wondering if any one has been around these if they are good machines I ve been around some other green haying equipment (new) and not impressed compared to Hesston or other makes. Just was wondering about reliability and if they made there own haybine then.
Thanks Moonlighter

The 1600's and 1600A's were actually very good machines. Although they're made by JD, they share alot of parts in common with the New Hollands- most of the hydraulic components interchange, with New Holland being cheaper. Check the tongue pivot to make sure it isn't busted up, and the conditioner roll bearings and drives.

I had a 1209 Deere, It was awful. Gear box would not stay together. I bought a New Holland 499 center pivot (12') and we love it, very easy to get arround with and mows like a dream, been running it for 5 years now with no breaks.
