I hope someone can give this tractor a home. I am not all that far from it, but I think maybe I have brought enough tractors home for a little while, and I already have my sights set on something else. (kinda contradictory, isn't it?)
No, it isn't mine. I just want to help save it.

If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

Thanks for posting this one, Red. I don't have a budget for it, but I passed the note on to a buddy who might be able to rescue it... if not, perhaps he'll partner with me...

Wish it wasn't so far away. I would buy it. Just bought a running 1950 WD motor for our 1942 WC. Will run this motor hopefully until the 42 motor is completely rebuilt. That one looks like it is mostly all there. Would be a great project tractor.

I can appreciate you guys wanting to save some of this stuff, but why spend $400 on a non-runner that probably has parts missing or bad when you can buy a runner for $800.

Co'mon Big John, where's your sense of adventure! LOL! I'd even buy the darn thing, but I got enough unfinshed projects also...

Well... if we don't, they'll get crushed and sold to China... all the non-runners will be gone, and our kids won't have respectable project startpoints at a price they can afford. call it the "iron standard". It's silly from one perspective, but makes sense in another. |

I like that Dave! Great way to put it, the "Iron Standard".

Well Dave, and I agree with you. The problem and my point is this. One of the forum members wanted a tractor for his son for an FFA project, I offered a runner to him for about half of value, his reply was that he couldn't afford that and would look for a non runner project about half of what I quoted him. Problem is, he will have more than my quote price in the non runner to get it to the same operational level as my tractor and still have a tractor of questionable mechanical value because it was purchased as a non runner. By all means if someone can use parts from that WC for a project by all means buy it. But, to my point, if you were to try and bring it back to life I would think that a conservative effort would cost some where in the $3000 range if there were any kind of mechanical issues. Finished value of an unstyled WC in my neighborhood is $1000. $1500 if you are lucky and it's exceptionally nice.
