What size rear tires have you put on your WD's, WD45's and D17's? What brands? What kind of prices? I have one of each that could use a pair of rear tires and I'm planning on going shopping after the first of the year. Are the rims the same width on the WD and the WD45?

	I think 13.6-28's are what you need. Today I just got my latest Allis Connection and there is an add for a pair of 13.6's. Only problem might be is it's the Sept/Oct issue. Call Jerry 319-443-2571.

	Generally around "here" WD had 13.6 tires and 45's had 14.9. Technically the 13.6 should be a 12" rim and the 14.9 should be 13". I know my grandfather's WD with original 12x28 (today's 13.6x28) came with 11" rims. Early 17's were common with 14.9, but by the time the Series III came out, most were fitted with 16.9, which should use a 15" rim. About the least expensive USA "name brand" tire is Titan, which looks nice and should wear OK. My parents put a set of 16.9 Titans on a D-17 this summer for $600+ each tire.

	my 2 cents.....14.9's on WD & 45. They suck in some on the WD rims but did it for many yrs with no problems. 16.9's on the 17.....I'd put 23 degree Firestones on everything and be done with it. Don't know prices but you get what you pay for! Don't pay 2/3 price for a wannabe tire. Would likely be last set YOU have to buy.Let the boys worry about the next set. WD is 2 inches narrower than WD45. I did round up a set of 45 rims for dad's 49 WD for the last set of rubber in the 80's but he had 14.9's on it since the early 60's. Tire prices have really climbed in the last year or so. Don't try to justify expense.Just pay the piper.LOL!

	The D17 has 16.9's on it, one is a grader/backhoe tire, the other is a farm I can't remember brand but it has more tread. I bought the WD knowing it needed rear tires. The WD45 has mismatched, cracked tires with good tread (the old girl has been here since it was a year old) but the inside sidewall on the left one has a bulge after plowing this fall. I'm thinking 14.9's on both the WD & 45 but I'd consider a good used pair on the WD I bought BKT's for the rear of the 8070 and Alliance for the front this spring they are decent looking and they still look new after spring and fall. There are no new Goodyear or Armstrong ag tires any more, all rolled into Titan. Firestones were really, really expensive, over $3,000 more for the set. I'm thinking Titan first but I'll look at anything.

	How many tires you put on the 8070? 4 or 6? Two 18.4-38 Frestone radials and tubes installed(fluid) were 2850 this spring.

	2, 20.8 x 38 rears, not a popular size any more (and they know it) and 18.4 x 26 fronts mounted and the rears moved to the duals. I started at my local dealer pricing Firestones. I had 2 Firestone 18.4 x 38 radials mounted on my 8050 about 4 years ago for just over $1500, talk about sticker shock this time. LOL

	Heard on the radio that raw rubber has gone up 207% in the last 2 years.

	The price of tires is the reason i've almost stoped restoring tractors, I get calls about once a month from somone wanting to buy used tires for their tractor and tell them "good luck " A aet of 4 tires for a 3/4 ton PU are over 1K now

	Dave, if your rims are good, stay with the 14.9 s. If you have to buy rear rims, go with the bigger rim amd put on 16.9 s. We did that to both our WD and our 45. Glad we did . you won't be sorry.
