Put new brake bands, adjusting screws, anchor pins and return springs in the C, problem I have is putting the angle brace on. The brake actuator lever will not come up high enough for the angle to go under it. Both sides the same way. Adjusting screws look like old ones. If I back them off to let the lever clear the screw comes out of the band nut. The linings are not OEM, but aftermarket. Maybe would clear after bands seat to drum. Thought of notching brace to let it come over in position. Any body run across this before.  Everything is assembled correctly.

SOunds like the linings are a little thicker than original.  Not unusual.  If you have the linkage handy, try hooking it up and give the breaks a good cycle.  Sometimes the bad is not perfectly macthed around the drum too, and will cuase that.  Just give the pedals a good bit of pressure and see if there's more room.
