Picked Up my CA today. I have not found the serial number yet. I think I read it is somewhere by the shifter.

Tractor runs very poorly but doesn't smoke. I think it will need some carb work and some ignition.

Tractor has been converted to 12V but the wiring is very messy.
Brakes do not work
Hydraulic Pump is unknown
Rims have some rust and are filled will calcium. Plan to demount and fix and paint

But overall this tractor should be a good project

I would like to get a 3pt hitch setup. Not sure if I should go for the snap coupler setup and get an adatper or just go for aftermarket

Welcome to the last tractor brand you will ever want, and welcome to the forum.  Except for what you have already found as defective, the tractor looks pretty straight.  Nice find.

Welcome! CAs are nice little tractors. I couldn't talk my neighbor into selling his, so I ended up buying a B. And then I found another B, and a plow, and a cultivator, and a Woods belly mower, and a sickle bar mower... you better get ready for more orange stuff to show up. The guys on here can give you good advice on just about anything.

Carbon plug wires are a pain and keep a vintage engine from running well. A choke wire that doesn't open and  close the choke all the way is another common pain. Then there's the plugged fuel line that keeps the engine running lean. That can be anywhere from the float needle, through the inlet adapter screen, to varnish in the line, in the sediment screen, or in the fuel outlet in the tank. And can be more than one of these. Start with these and a new set of plugs not Champion plugs and there's a good chance it will begin to run like a fine sewing machine. If not, then carburetor cleaning and valve setting are in order accompanied by compression testing.
