Have a Freeman Loader I want to put on my WD45, cylinders aren't high pressure. Rated at 2000 PSI. Is there some type of pressure relief valve I can put on the 45 to drain the access fluid back to the pump? or a pressure gauge I can install and just keep an eye on it? I likely won't be lifting the max load on the tractor, more like leveling gravel and moving cinder blocks, maybe moving snow in the winter, etc. The loader will usually be off the tractor, and just put it on when I need it. I'd like to someday install a shut off so I can run the 3pt and loader separate if needed.

I don't know how the 45 will like it but if you use an external open center control valve pack for the loader it will include a pressure relief valve that discharges to the return. I think you will find the 45 also has a low volume system that will make the low pressure loader run slowly.

As Gerald said, Low pressure cylinders are going to be awfully slow on the 45. I would consider using a PTO pump or go with some high pressure cylinders.
I think I may have a couple of high pressure cylinders lying around. I had a old AC loader that the frame is junk. I think the cylinders are still there. |

The cost to ship would almost be enough to justify me buying brand new ones

I think I have a valve that was used on a WD that reduced the pressure so that a regular cylinder can be used.

Local hydraulic shop wanted MORE money to repair ONE cylinder on my D-14 Freeman loader than what it was going to cost to have TWO custom made cylinders AND all the hoses from PrincessAuto( Cdn mini version of NorthernTool/ Harbour Fright)!
Nether got my money , sold the loader as I didn't use it for 2 years.
My option though would be to put a separate pump on, 3 spool valve (up/down,tilt bucket,' something else' option).
Having it split like this, keeps tractor original...allows 'other' things to be added to the lower pressure system easily.

Buy newer 100 series tractor w/loader, WD45 can stay original, and stay in better shape that way.

Besides being high pressure the allis system is low volume,as Gerald already said, however I think I would give it a try, if not satisfied you can then buy pto pump or smaller cylinders I have a friend with a setup like that and he gets by.

I'VE GOT LOW PRESSURE CYCLS ON MY WD45 LOADER . IT.S A LITTLE SLOWER , BUT LIFTS LIKE CRAzY. WILL LIFT THE REAR OF TRACTOR OFF THE GROUND. IT SURE HELPS WHEN BIG BALES ARE FROZE DOWN.
