Hi Guys.

Sorry if I am a bit naive but i just bought my first couple AC's...

A Industrial I60 and a D15 Series 2. ( I bought the D15 just stopping to look to get some hints on how the I60 worked..:)

I have bought all books and manuals, but am having some trouble figuring out how to get the back end of this I60 working...

I am getting no pressure at the main line (both the Main and traction booster)...So I paid the local expert to come out today and he confirmed...no pressure.. I then proceeded to take the pump out, but i can't see what might be the problem?

The Cam shaft seems to be cranking while turning it over (only verified with photos as i don't want to teach my 4 year old how to turn the key..)

Pump looks OK, and the springs and such don't look/seem stuck or broken? I ran it over to the local guy and he thinks it looks OK also

How do you test a pump out of the machine? I know i must be missing something...

Get the parts and sdrvice manuals out, read the service part on the hyd pump real good, then take it apart and look for something broken or stuck.   May be the unloading valve is stuck in the unloaded postion, if so it will not pump oil to the valve in the back.   Also there are two relief valves on the rear valve, take those out and swap them, one may be bad, usually it will work a little but kicks out easily.   I have an I60 too, mine has the loader with the front hyd pump and I have an Allis box blade on it, sure it handy!!!  Good luck.

I will break it down completely tomorrow....

Mine has the loader also... Great machine! From what i can tell is the loader is completely separate from this system.

Do you know how i can find the year of it? I found serials online for everything but our machine??

Yours Diesel as well?

Yes, the loader has its own pump and oil supply,  the power steering has its own pump but uses oil from the tractor hyd system.      Roughly  the  I60s were in the early 1960s, they were only built for about a year and a half.  Look at the D15 series IIs, as an I60 is a Indusrialized D15 II.   The I600s came later and there were more of them.

Ok...

I have now disassembled this whole thing, and every spring, ball, piston, etc....look to be ok? I put it all back together and still nothing...no pressure.

Any Ideas?\

Would the loader pump be able to run the three point for testing if i T'd into it?

Stuck here.... Sorry... Whom fixes or rebuilds these things?

Any way to test out of the machine?

Is it worth checking the lobs on the shaft that is running that pump?

Hold Position valve needs replacing/service?

If that pump works like the older tractors, you should be able to stick the pickup tube in some oil and work the pistons to see if it will pump oil. 3 plungers are for volume and one for high pressure I believe. I don't know where the relief valve is, but if it is stuck or leaking, you won't build pressure.

Thanks guys.

I don't have the test equipment so i used a good ole 5 gallon bucket, and it seems like it pumps OK.

In this system the control block is where the relief valve, letdown adjustment, etc....so now i guess maybe that relief valve is stuck open, making the fluid just go right thru the control block back to the sump? Is this a likely assumption?

Given the tractors age...who knows maybe someone took the ram right out of it? i will tear that apart next i guess?

I assume the ram housing is full of oil? When there is no pressure would the arms move easily by hand? Just wondering as they do now.

They move easily if there is an open circuit in the system somewhere.  They are not supposed to move down unless you move the lever.
