Having a bit of trouble trying to adjust the throttle linkage. I've fought it before, had it close, its been sitting all summer, got it going today and threw the duals on it. Rpm was a little high, adjusted it according to the manual, didnt seem to bad. cultivated a little bit with it and it seemed to idle high, turned the screw out on the carb and adjusted the other linkage, then it all went down hill, I cant get it to idle right, way to many Rpm at full throttle, and before i even adjusted anything there was very little play in the throttle, it was either all or nothing, and still is. Anyone ever ran into this?
Sorry its a long post..

Thanks, Carl

When most people describe "all or nothing" or "idle or screams" there's a broken governor weight. Now,,,,,where have you been adjusting things?? under the gas tank on the RH side??

Never thought about broken governor weight... yeah, on the right hand side, the long rod and short rod, I have two other WD's, I had no problem adjusting them, throttle is gradual like its suppose to be, Rpms are where I like them along with idle...Theres a slight throttle change but it opens up pretty quickly, not much inbetween idle and high idle like the other 2.

Governor controls wide open throttle, it must be non-functioning.

If the weights are ok, shorten the link between gov arm and carb by bending it down toward drain plug. Do it a little at a time until it works ok.   MACK

Alright, subject revisited. checked the governor weights, looked to be in good shape and working properly. Any other suggestions?
