I have not seen any D270s on your forum they are 4 speed and have larger lift rams than a B yet much the same tractor cheers john

Pretty sure they came from Essendine England works. I think thats the first D270 that doesn't have a diesel in it I've seen.

Thanks guys for the reply the weights on the other eb are more of a kidney shape a freind of mine has a 272 with a 3cyl diesel in it cheers john

Hi John I had a D 270 I think they were brought into australia to try and compete with the grey fergie they had a mock up three point lift , 4 speed box and twelve volt electrics

So what transmission was in the 270? That sure looks like a B with a different front shroud. There are a few other minor discrepancies.

Hi every one C Tucker the only major difference in the D270 is the 4 seed gear box and some extra panel over the battery box and stronger linkage and hyd rams next time i'am in that shed i will get some more pictures if interested in any of the A.C. let me know what you want to see glad to help cheers john

I was looking at the voltage regulator, and the throttle lever. Our B's had the cut out relay and a different throttle. Do you know if Allis imported that tractor with the generator, starter and such on it or were they added after it was brought in. I know when Studebaker shipped cars to down under, they didn't have starters and generators because of import laws in place at the time. I tmay have been different for imports from the British?

Yes all the british imports have the voltage regulator under the generator are 12 volt i have some more pictures i will post later

Hi John I have 4 HD 11 dozers and an allis power unit , my brothers have a HD6 and 2 HD3'S there wer only 12 hd3's brought into australia I will post some picks for you soon cheers steve

here is a few pictures of some of our parts and project allis B.s And a tractor me and my son just finished it is the wrong colour for this forum a electric start 730d we got all our parts from the US it was in a rough condition the clutch and belt pulley and housing was missing

England 1955 to 1957 All Lucas electrics, made with a perkins P3 or 125ci gas/kerosene unit. CA 4 speed box. and a few other pattern CA parts.

Yery nice D270 dave i will have to get mine out of the shed and into the work shop one day know i now how the hyd rams hook up. and i will cut the rust out of the gards and so on get it ready for paint i should give the EB the same tretment
