I have a WD45 that is flooding?
I have put in a new carb kit, I put the float in hot water and there was no holes. When I try to start the tractor it runs but really rough, then when it quits it blows gas out the air intake? I was working on it this morning and the carb cot fire twice. The float is not sticking or hanging up on any thing? I have no idea on why it is flooding and I don't know how to get it to stop, I have tried everything and now I am hoping someone on here has an idea. Thanks for any info |

If the float is good and properly adjusted, I would take a close look at the inlet needle/seat valve. It may not be seating properly so it does not stop the flow of gas even though the float tells it to. I have had brand new ones on "off color" garden tractors that were defective. FWIW

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

My little sisters did the same thing. I took the carb apart very carefully so I could find the problem. There was a very small piece of plastic stuck in the needle and seat not letting it seal. I removed the plastic and its been fine ever sense.

When I rebuild my carb I soaked it first then blew it out with air. I was told if the needle has a rubber end to seat it in the seat by taping with a mallet. Make sure the float is adjusted right also. Good luck with a frustrating deal.

Make sure one of the Pontoons of the float is not hanging up on the inside wall of the float bowl. Will make it flood and do it every time! Look at the floats head-on while holding the top section of the carb upside down. Make sure the floats are not canted. They need to be straight for correct float level as well as no inner wall interference. I'm assuming this is a M/S TSX-464 or large bore TSX equivilent...... HTH Steve@B&B |

Also if the floats are sunk in,can cause the flooding.
