i have a 1959 d14 with the bar grill on it. its kinda in a slow process of being restored. i put it on the dyno and it dynoed 29 horse. it seems like the main bearings are worn. as far as i know the engine has not been touched since it came off the factory line. should i just go with a out of frame kit or save some money and go with the inframe kit? what would be the best out of frame kit that would give me some extra power?

If you are going to do the job, put the extra little effort andmoney in and go with a full rebuild.  I have installed a lot of the kits that we sell, and been very satisfied.  If you are seeing 29 hp, you will be thrilled with a good rebuiild.
Our kits are overbore, but don't plan on much of a hp gain just by the tiny bit of overbore.  You will see the biggest gains from good fitting bearings, and proper compression from the build. Feel free to give me a call on our toll free number  877-378-6543 or browse our website to see the kits. JimD | |

I put a Howard complete engine kit in my 1959 D14 last winter.  In the summer it dynoed at 35 hp.  The engine was totally rusted and locked before that.

I posted above about A&I's kits, we have sold/installed more Howard's kits than the others, you won't be disappointed with Tony's kit....good ppl to work with, they seem to take care of their dealers pretty well......Tony will take care of you too!
