Yes, that does look good..simple and uncluttered but functional.
For us older guys tho I'd suggest a small 3/4 inch hi lip up on the inside edge..keep one from slipping off that way... I like it tho! |

Thanks..you could just return an up-bend on the flat stock...set the step metal in between.

I got my step from Mike today. I don't think the photo does it justice... it's much larger and heavier than I expected. Very well built! I can't wait to get it painted and mounted.

Very nice, well designed. First design I've seen that works on the CA as well as the B & C.

Charlie175,
I don't have access to a underbelly sickle mower, but looking at pictures of one, there is a good chance it would work. You can look at the following dimensions to see what you think. The bottom of the step is approx. 16-17" from the floor/ground depending on rear tire size and inflation. The inboard edge of the step is about 8" in from the outside face of the fender and the front edge of the step is about 8" in front of the tractor step bar. Regarding finish mowers, I'm not sure about a particular mowers lift height when raised. I would be interested to know what that height is just for my information for future questions of my step clearance also what the frame width is for a underbelly sickle mower. Thanks, Mike Edited by mnoonan-NEWI - 20 Jan 2011 at 3:52pm |

You know, I would have to have a step like this to mount a B, C, or CA. I remember having trouble as a kid.
Looks like a good job.
