The loader I was asking about awhile back finally made its way to my buddies house....here are some pics..... from the serial plate can someone give me the year? What engine is in it? To me it looks like a 262 but his dad swears its a 282....I've never heard of a 282 AC engine but I dont know the Industrial side of things....

Coke has it right with that info, but the early diesels (59-61) had the 6DA273 of 83hp with an Allison transmission.

Thanks for the info guys....I knew I was right about that engine but his dad kept arguing it was a 282 which I had never heard of before.....from what he told me he ran it a few times when it was nearly new and kept tabs on it....it was at another plant of the concrete company he works for.....the only thing it really needs is brake work....apparently some of these were shuttle clutch and others automatic? This one is automatic....is that more rare or not?

Very cool. I don't know the answers to your questions but this looks like an awesome machine. I wish I could find one to use around the farm.
