I put a new tachometer and cable on my D15 diesel. The tach cable did come from Steiners and said it fit the D15 and D17 diesels. The issue is where it connects to the engine. As you can see, there is a problem. Can that stem sticking out of the engine block be removed and allow the cable to fit (and work)? ![]() |

You will need to remove the drive from the block and disassemble to remove the old broken piece of the drive cable. What is stuck in there is what you see at the end of your new cable. I have a thread on the forum concerning my D17 diesel cable was stuck but not broken. I included pictures also.
