Hello,
My WD's shifter was sloppy in the shift tower and would spin all the way around, making it difficult to find some of the gears. Thanks to the forums and internet I was able to re-weld up some material on the shift ball and then cut a new channel, plus I added a pin and channel on the other side of the ball. The shifter works very nice now, however I don't understand the special washer that sits between the shift ball and snap ring. Mine didn-t have either when I went to take it apart. The washer seems to be to big to go down into the top of the shift tower. Anyone experienced this issue before?20251104_090951.jpg

Wow, that's weird, usually I think that piece and the weird snap ring looking thing both go down in there and sit on top of the "ball" in the shifter... Can't dig up a handy picture at the moment though.

I thought it seemed weird also. I assumed it should not have to be driven down in, but wasn't sure if they usually just drop down in the tower and sit against the ball or have some resistance going in.
