Is there any difference between D-14, D-15 1, and D-15 2 internals in transmission (gears, shafts, bearings, seals, etc.)? What can be interchanged is the question. Thanks

Many part numbers have changed back in the day. The D-15 tractor at s/n 17565 had some changes that prior s/n's didn't have. It appears that if you had a D-14 complete tranny and a D-15 complete tranny, you could interchange a lot of parts just fine. Sometimes when they made a change to a specific gear, you had to change the other gear that mated with it. Gear tooth counts were different so they were in pairs. And who KNOWS what is in either tranny until you tear them down?? Someone may have already been in there before you. There used to be aftermarket 3rd gears available. AGCO wouldn't have much if anything after 60 years.

I went through this years ago. D-14 transmission parts often had superseded part numbers to the D-15 number. I just bolted a good D-14 transmission to a D15 diesel with no issues.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

If you are looking for alternative gear ratio's, try H3 crawler gears! I drove my H3 in 4th gear last weekend, it was in between 3rd and 4th speedwise in a tractor. 3rd or 2nd may be different as well. 1st may be slower that a tractor?

Surprisingly the early 'D' Series, D-10, D-12, D-14, and D-15, all had the same Transmission Gears, both on the Main Shaft and the Pinion Shaft as the CA.

As the Dr. stated. D-15 at Serial 17565 updated all the Transmission Gears.

The Teeth Count remained the same though for all the Gears except 1st Gear.

1st Gear on the Pinion went from 18 Teeth to 16.

Even the British D-272 and ED-40 used the same Transmission Gears.
