Busted two upper tooth bodies away that had been Root Canal treated long ago, rearmost molar Lower Right and second molar behind lower right Canine. First one was a wrestling match, the week before went to Eureka Springs, 2 1/2 hours In The Chair to get it out, bled as if hit a artery, all OK as of last weekend. Second tooth root was today, three approaches of numbing shots to get the sensation gone, 45 minutes to get it numb, thirty minutes later all done. Minimal blood, not sensing any severity of pain coming on.
Did implant Bone Chip Grafts to fill these holes on Lower Right, trying to convince me to have a Implant Pin installed, thinking just going to deal with missing teeth. Have minimum four months to see if the Grafts even took.

Dentist around here will hardly do an extractor any more... Just clean and x-rays... I had one done 5 years ago and one done 1 year ago.. Dentist sent me to a "SPECIALIST" in the BIG CITY 90 minutes away... Both teeth were loose and somewhat decayed... Sat in chair for 20 minutes with several shots to NUMB... Doctor came in and pulled both in 2-3 minutes !!.... I can remember local Dentist pulling one 20 years ago that took an hour..

Neither a Specialist or another dentist would have done as well on that first one, Roots had embrittled, every attempt to pressure and would snap, had to dig out every piece. Was the reason the Tooth Head snapped away.

Really like the staff there Doug, pricing can be eye opening yet after hearing the reports of others that went to Sullivan or other cities for Cheap Work, they got what bought. Both dentists at NHD have been extremely intent of what I was asking of and where I wanted to go with my failing teeth.

Extracting root canal treated teeth can be the worst. Teeth are brittle because of rct and rarely is there enough tooth structure to grab. I am the last dentist in my town who extracts teeth, wisdom teeth and everything. Everyone else sends to the oral surgeon down the street. He has a very very nice boat. Think i will set up booth at goto. Free treatment for forum members

I had a tooth with root canal pulled 2 or 3 years ago. Even with some insurance I think I had to pay $1200 to the oral surgeon. I will give them credit it was not the painful experience I expecting. I did opted to be asleep through the procedure which did cost more. Since it was a back tooth did not for the prep to put a implant in.

These TWO, root wads as Tooth head was gone were less than $700 TOTAL, included Sterilized Cadaver Bone Fragments to stimulate jaw bone new growth where teeth once sat.

I had a back lower molar with root canal performed 15 years ago develop a crack towards the front going vertical. No pain but dentist said this is how bad infections start. So off to the oral surgeon. He had a tough time loosening that thing out. He said you really don't need a replacement if you want.
I said nope, needs to be replaced with an implant...Strongest,safest were my request. He said we will stitch the hole closed, check in three months for bone fill in, drill hole for the stud, three months later to let stud and bone to merge well. New fake molar since 2019 has been great...Thank God I had this performed before COVID...oh yea, $2400 for extraction and new replacement...Yikes

Far cry from when I had a bridge put in , had a lower molar pulled and dentist said if you want I can put in a bridge there after a few months - but if you want I can put a bridge in on the other side where a tooth is missing - $300 for it but if you let me do both will be $250 each . (did first missing and month or so later the other one)
Had him do 2 upper bridges also but he raised his price to $300 each . Those upper bridges lasted 50 years until teeth supporting them went bad . Now the lower bridges were replaced by another Dentist 20 years back as he said they were worn and tooth under then needed repair - $1000 each |

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Have one molar between the two missing spots, takes a lot of pressure now, three teeth on opposing side are truly no better than the two and one on removal side so as those four go to hell and pulled will be aligning for a Partial plate attached to lower fronts to remedy. Should survive to get me to the magic of a Pine Box and six foot hole, too old for fancy repairs.

I was in a similar boat and felt nervous about pulling multiple teeth, but what helped me was talking to someone who explains things clearly without pushing stuff. I found jeffreygrossdds.com really helpful since it breaks things down in normal words and answers a lot of the stuff I couldn’t get straight answers for elsewhere. Made it less scary knowing what to expect before and after the extractions.
